Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your answers to the questionnaire: your stage, studies or work, how you like to work, roles you're curious about, and the questions on your mind.
• Contact and profile details: first name, email address, city, country, age band and how you heard about us.
• Your resume or LinkedIn profile, only if you choose to upload one.
• Payment records: the amount, date, order and payment IDs, and any coupon used. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and never reach us.
• Messages you send through the contact form, and any feedback or rating you give your report.
• Basic technical data needed to run the site securely, such as your IP address and browser type in server logs.

Why we use it

• To create your report and deliver it on screen and by email.
• To process your payment, apply coupons and referral codes, and keep records required by law.
• To reply to your messages and help if something goes wrong.
• To improve the questionnaire and reports, using answers in aggregate.
• To send you occasional tips and updates, only if you ticked the box to say yes.

We rely on your consent, which you give on the questionnaire's final screen, and on what's needed to provide the service you've paid for. We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising trackers.

How AI is used

Your answers, and your resume text if you add one, are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to write your report. Before a resume is used, we remove your phone number, email address and home address. We treat what you send strictly as information for your report.

Who we share it with

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

• Anthropic, to generate your report.
• Razorpay, to process your payment.
• Cloudflare, which hosts and runs our website.
• Our email provider, to send your report and reply to messages.
• Government or law-enforcement bodies, only when the law requires it.

Some of these providers process data outside India. We use them only for the purposes above.

How long we keep it

• Uploaded resume and LinkedIn files are deleted once your report is ready.
• Answers and reports are kept for 12 months so you can come back to your report, then deleted or anonymised.
• Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• correct or update it;
• delete it (we'll keep only what the law requires);
• withdraw your consent, for example to tips and updates;
• nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only what the site needs to work, such as saving your questionnaire progress in your browser so you don't lose it if your connection drops.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit who can access your data, and keep keys and payment processing with trusted providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.

Children

Career Clarity is meant for students and working professionals. If you're under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian's permission.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email.
